About Us
Jenny Slepian, principal
GBCI Certified True zero waste advisor
I bring both public and private sector sustainability project experience to Wildwood Sustainability. I started my professional career as an environmental planner in New Zealand, working primarily on transportation projects. During my 6 years at The City of Lake Oswego, I was a sustainability department of one, implementing a residential curbside composting program, the city’s first climate action plan, joined Oregon’s first renewable power purchase agreement, developed a High Performance Buildings policy, and handled the nitty gritty details of a local government sustainability manager- EV infrastructure, waste franchises, outreach and education, you name it!
As a Product and Zero Waste Specialist for Eco-Products, I learned all the ins and outs of composting, setting up waste diversion programs, packaging legislation, Extended Producer Responsibility, and infrastructure development. I had the opportunity to take the Compost Operations Training Course, and serve on state committees in OR and WA. Over the years, I learned the challenges of rural and high-altitude organics diversion at ski areas, the importance of post-event sorting at sports arenas, the dynamics of foodservice at universities, and the special waste diversion opportunities at remote national parks!
In my free time, I volunteer at the Oregon Humane Society, walking and running dogs, reads voraciously, tries to spend as much time as possible outdoors, loves running and yoga, and is trying to learn piano again from her childhood piano books.
